Located 90 minutes from Portland, Oregon's tallest peak is crowned by eleven glaciers and plays host to the only year-round ski resort in North America.

Mount Hood is a Main Grid Room.

Description

Mount Hood's perpetually snowy peak -- crowned by eleven glaciers, one for every thousand feet it rises above sea level -- can be seen from miles and miles away. Beautiful alpine lakes with names like Lost, Trillium and Mirror dot Mt. Hood's flanks, each offering its own unique view of the mountain. Forests and valleys fill with lavender and wildflowers in the spring, like purple lupine, beargrass and lilies, and apples and pears and berries in the summer and fall -- so much so that the epic drive between the mountain and the nearby town of Hood River is called the Fruit Loop.

Hiking trails snake their way all throughout the resplendent terrain, and the mountain is home to six ski areas that are open all year round. The area is rich in farms galore, boasting acres of orchards and vineyards, and historic landmarks, such as The Timberline Lodge, open their doors to visitors every day.
